Two awesome test victories

Alas, looks like my prayers for the Indian team were answered. Maybe in another format of the game, bust still. As experts would say, "psychological edge" will be with India for at least the next test.
Although the Indians showed immense character, determination and dedication to acheive what almost was impossible, I was following the other test match that was going on over the same 5 days. The awesome Aussies pulverising the puny poms. Now that Aussie team is what a champion team should look like. Just see how deeply they were hurt by the ashes defeat last year. Every team member of the so labeled "Dad's Army" was so full of that ruthless streak to win back the pricelss ashes urn that you could almost feel it yourself. And the poor English team, even the talismanic Andrew Flintoff, had to be rudely awakened to the harsh reality that last year was a fluke!!
Coming back to the Indian team, looks like some change has happened in the Indian team. Comeback players(Zaheer, Dada and Laxman) were hugely responsible for this test victory. So what inference can we draw? Bringing in experience, and getting rid of that famous cricketing cliche of "our team is a perfect blend of youth and experience". Whatever it is, if it works, why not? Lets just say that messers Raina, Kaif and co were just not ready for the big league yet.

And yes, i stayed up all night, i payed 10 bucks to watch , and the Indian team did not let me down..
Way to go India, Now lets do it in the one day format also, because as "Revealed" said in a comment on my previous post, the World Cup is not a series of test matches!!

The only way for india to win is to keep the players on their toes and not go on past performances. Keep the in form players in and throw out the out of formers.

no way india is going to win with the experience is everything/youth and experience motto.

I'm not gonna say anything about Raina yet, but Kaif I'm sorry to say has been given enough chances. Unless he polishes his act he shouldn't be given another outing. He's one player to whom we haven't been unfair at all. I think Tendulya sadly has to go! I don't see him coming back. And you're spot on, the comeback players were the key, and why? Cos they had something to prove. I say, make all of them fight for their places. Complacency is a terrible thing!

revealed, I agree with you on ur point about kaif. but i dont agree that sachin has to go just yet. He has done enough to warrant him to choose his own time to leave.

even now!, leave dropping Sachin, not having him in the team is an unimaginable thought , play or no play his presence in the team is itself a huge uncomparable advantage to the team and vice versa.

rightly said ,amit, he has his destiny and future in its own hands as far as cricket is concerned.

See, this is our problem! Him being on the team and not playing might not be a bad idea! It'd be a good move in fact cos he has a lot more to give to the game. But just take a look at his batting now, and think about how he used to be! This new Sach has none of that confidence that he used to have. How long are we gonna drag around dead weights in our team?

Revealed,
dead weight.. Sachin? dead weight?

sad but .. true.. and it hurts.

but when i said he has done enough to choose his time, i also meant that i expect him to be smart enough to know.
i hope he does'nt join the list of ppl like kapil dev and gavaskar.. legends when they played, but liabilities in the twilights of their careers.

I would love to see the old Sachin again. The Sachin of the late 90's. and earlier in this decade.
